The 2025 AHEI Grant Review Committee is Proud to ANNOUNCE
The 2025 AHEI Grant Recipients!
*Community Service Committee of the American Medical Association Medical Student Section,
for their program “Street, Supply & Serve”. The students will gather at the American Medical Association Annual Meeting in June to prepare 160 kits that will be handed out by The Night Ministry, a street medicine organization, serving people living on the streets of Chicago. Supplies will include: socks, underwear, toothbrush/toothpaste, body wipes, shampoo/conditioner, first aid kits, Vaseline, Advil packets, winter gloves, and Benadryl.
*Community Care Clinics out of Maumee, Ohio,
has been selected as a recipient for their “What to Know Outreach Program” concerning issues affecting the Toledo Area. This program targets underserved individuals who are at high risk for preventable infections. The educational outreach addresses topics such as syphilis, bloodborne pathogens, and other preventable diseases. As part of the initiative, participants will receive informational packets containing: Narcan, Fentanyl test strips, sterile bandages, alcohol wipes, hand sanitizers, lubricants, condoms, dental dams, water bottles, Liquid IV, facial wipes, and carry bags for all contents
*Access for All out of Erie, Pennsylvania,
for their Mobile Retina Clinic, which provides Vision Wellness Kits to people unable to obtain
routine vision care. Kits will include magnifying glasses, a penlight for reading UV-blocking
sunglasses, Amsler Grid pages to detect AMS symptoms, sugar-free Emergen-C packets, plastic eye models, and educational printouts describing eye disease.
*Nueces County Medical Society Alliance out of
Corpus Christi, Texas,
for their Healthy Habits for our School program, which serves TG Allen Elementary School, where 98% of the students come from low-income households. These students often lack basic hygiene supplies. They will supply toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, lice shampoo, maxi pads, baby wipes, socks, underwear, and children’s books to families. In addition to providing hygiene products and books, physician and spouse members will read books to the students.
*SWI Industrial Solutions Workshop out of
Springfield, Missouri,
for their Health Aid for Employees first aid program. SWI Industrial Solutions is a non-profit organization that hires individuals with developmental disabilities to assemble various products. The First Aid kits will include: Band-Aids, gauze, antiseptic spray, Coban wrap, surgical tape, first aid box, gauze scissors, Isopropyl prep pads, elastic tourniquets, Instant cold packs, and latex gloves.
